A builder and a project manager, working outside Japan
Two Japanese companies that had spent decades building and managing separately, working together outside Japan for the first time.
How it is built determines how long it lasts.
The construction half
Structural design and calculation, fabrication in our own workshops, erection, roofing and cladding. Power generation, manufacturing plant, food production, cold chain, distribution, defence and public works, delivered under national contractors and for government clients. In-house steel and aluminium fabrication in Japan, with partner workshops in Vietnam and Korea.
The management half
Project management, site supervision, cost management and contract administration. Rail, airports, water and process programmes for owners, ministries and funding agencies, and current airport logistics work in Japan.
Why it matters to a client
A client usually hires a builder or hires a manager, and carries the space between them. We hold both, so that space is ours.
We enter where a project's design, standards, supply and execution environment do not naturally fit together, because that is where Japanese engineering is worth having, and where a local contractor has no answer.
We compete on knowing exactly how a difficult building goes together, and having done it before. That is what a client is buying.
122 of the projects behind us are buildings delivered as contractor. The rest are programmes managed from the owner's side, where the work was to hold the structure together rather than to build part of it.
Hiterra was founded in July 2025. The Japan entity followed in 2026, and the Saudi contracting entity in August 2026. The companies behind it, a builder and a project manager, have been working in Japan for decades. The record runs far longer than the company name.
How we work
Close the interfaces first
Projects fail between parties, not inside them. We settle the joints before anyone mobilises, while they still cost nothing.
Design for what the building does
A factory isn't a warehouse with machines in it. The process sets the grid and the tolerances. That's where we start.
Move before being asked
When something changes late, the answer should already be moving. The date is the fixed point. Everything else negotiates around it.
Japanese construction is among the best in the world. We want it available to hire from anywhere, which means putting the method where the project is rather than where it is comfortable. Precision that only works at home is a habit, not a capability.
How we got here
Seven Expo 2025 Osaka pavilions opened
Portugal, France, Monaco, Oman, Nordic Circle, India and Angola all opened on 13 April 2025, each procured separately by a different participating government.
Hiterra founded
A construction business and a project management practice, both working in Japan for decades, came together to deliver internationally.
Japan entity established
株式会社ヒテラ established in Tokyo, consolidating the group’s international delivery under a single Japanese entity.
Saudi contracting entity registered
A registered in-country company now holds client contracts and runs sites in the Kingdom, with an established local contracting partner behind it.
